Me Made May day 15 - The Anna Tunic

The Anna Tunic

Anna one of our fabulous sewing teachers wore her Anna tunic to work one day, when I saw it I knew I had to make it. I loved the yoke, the detail and the buttons on the back.

I decided to make the Anna tunic by Amy Butler top version, it was a free pattern with a magazine somewhere and you could download it, so in true Lizzy style I couldn’t wait and got on with it. I am terrible for that, I get a project in my mind and I want to make it there and then and can’t wait!

I did however wash the beautiful hand printed Merchant and Mills cotton, as this needed to be pre-washed with salt to hold the colour.

I enjoyed making this top, I did however change the instructions slightly and ended up making the yoke and top separately adding some bias binding and then sewing them together, I think it came out lovely.

Obviously choosing the buttons was the best part for a button obsessive like me, they just finish it off nicely. I would recommend anyone making this top, but I do think the instructions were slightly confusing.

This is a lovely summer top, in a gorgeous light weight cotton, with lovely finishing details.
