Me Made May day 14 - The Afternoon Blouse

The afternoon blouse

This top captured my attention when a customer brought it in to sew in a workshop.

I knew I had to make it, I loved the detail at the bust, and of course you could choose your favourite button to finish it off, so perfect for me.

The afternoon blouse top

This top was made about 18 months ago with a gorgeous Atelier Brunette cotton fabric and the pattern is by Jennifer Lauren Handmade and is a downloadable pattern.

Not a simple design but the instructions were good. I did have trouble with the fit of mine, and I think that has more to do with my short body length rather than the pattern. Basically, the front gaped quite a bit, and although you could bring the button across more then it didn’t sit right, it took a bit of fiddling to get it right. I have since made the dress version too which I also love but again trouble with the sizing around the neck, next time I will take it up at the shoulders, so it is shorter at the front rather than try and tuck and nip around the bust feature.
