Collars, Cuffs and Plackets - Shirt Skills Sewing

To provide participants with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in the specific techniques involved in shirt making. Join us for the day and learn all about collars, cuffs and packets, getting those perfect crisp lines on a shirt. 

What you will learn:

Sewing samples including: 

how to draft and sew a shirt collar,

make a samples shirt placket and set in 2 buttons and buttonholes,

sew a sample cuff with a button,

sew a sample pocket.

What you will need:

1 metre of calico fabric,

20 cm piece of collar interfacing,

20 cm piece of light weight interfacing 

A sewing machine – if you need to use one of ours please let us know when you book

A basic sewing kit – scissors, pins tape measure etc – we do have a supply of these if you need to use ours.

Level:

A good sewing level is required, you must have sewn a few garments.

Please note we try to calculate how long a workshop will be and plan to finish each garment in the allocated time but this isn’t always possible, If you are unable to finish in the workshop time we will make sure you are confident with your garment to be finished at home.

We need a minimum of 4 people for this workshop go ahead, if this number isn’t achieved by one week before we will be contacting you with an alterative date, if you are unable to re-schedule we offer a full refund.
