Pockets & Buttonholes a Skills Workshop

In this workshop we deep dive into the world of pockets, types, sizes and how to pattern draft them for the right garment. We look at the different uses of pockets and how to sew them.

Let’s also attack that buttonhole phobia some people have, we will look at bottonholes, practice and perfect them.

This workshop focuses on the construction elements where we make samples and gain confidence and practice in our skills.

What you will learn:

Slant pocket

Double jet pocket

What you will need:

Your sewing machine (if you need to use one of ours please advise at booking so we have one reserved for you)

A sewing kit – scissors, pins, stitch ripper etc

Buttonhole foot for your machine and sew on button foot

What we will supply:

fabric scraps to practice plus buttons

Level:

Next stage – you must have been on a beginner sewing course or sewn a garment or two.

Please note we try to calculate how long a workshop will be and plan to finish each garment in the allocated time but this isn’t always possible, If you are unable to finish in the workshop time we will make sure you are confident with your garment to be finished at home.

We need a minimum of 4 people for this workshop go ahead, if this number isn’t achieved by one week before we will be contacting you with an alternative date, if you are unable to re-schedule, we offer a full refund.
