This series of workshops is based around four garments, an a-line skirt, a pair of trousers, a tunic top and a sleeveless top. They are designed to attract beginner sewers who have been to the “Getting to Know Your Sewing Machine” or those sewers who are comfortable with the workings of a sewing machine and would like to learn or relearn the basics of sewing. Over the course of four days, you will make a simple yet attractive and wearable wardrobe.
You will learn how to:
· pattern layout, cutting and marking
· insert a zip
· attach bias binding
· sew a waistband
· insert side seam pockets
· attach facings
· insert a sleeve
What you will need:
· Sewing machine (there are some in the shop which you can use. These are limited so please book this early)
· Basic sewing kit inc zipper foot for machine
· Fabric, threads and notions for each garment.
Beginner/intermediates – you must have experience of working with a sewing machine or been on our Get to Know Your Sewing Machine workshop first.
