Have you always wanted to knit cosy, comfortable and well fitting socks? Then this is the workshop for you! Using your current knitting skills, you will learn all the additional techniques needed to knit cuff down socks.
What you will learn
A stretchy cast on, perfect for well fitting sock cuffs
How to knit a heel flap and turn the heel using short rows for shaping.
How to pick up stitches and shape the sock gusset.
Finally once you have finished the foot section, how to cast off using kitchener stitch to create a strong but comfortable toe.
By the time you have finished your workshop, you will be ready to go home and with your new skills knit lots of pairs of snuggly socks!
What you will need
We will be working with a scaled down version in thicker yarn during the class so we can concentrate on perfecting our sock knitting techniques. A pattern will be provided.
Yarn: 150 yards worsted or aran weight yarn
Needles: 3.25mm DPNs (or circular needles if you are comfortable with magic loop)
3.75mm DPNs (or circular needles if you are comfortable with magic loop)
You must be comfortable with knit, purl and knitting in the round, either using DPNs or circular needles using magic loop.
