Quilted Oversized Floor Cushion
Modern patchwork cover for an oversized cushion that can be used as a floor cushion, garden cushion, or even a picnic cushion.
You will learn:
Cutting squares using a rotary cutter and perspex ruler
How to sew an accurate 1/4” seam.
Layering up the cover ready for quilting
How to do basic quilting on the machine or by hand
Sewing a Zip
Assembling the cushion pieces together.
What you will need:
Basic knowledge of using a sewing machine is required
1/4” sewing foot
Walking foot for quilting (you can buy these off the internet for about £12, it will be necessary if they quilt on the machine) or you can hand quilt the cushion
Large Zip 28”
Fabric 2 m of plain fabric for main part of cushion plus another 80 cms of any fabric (doesn’t need to be pretty) for the back of the quilted cushion front. The small squares are made up of half metre of paint lids fabric from make or several different coloured fabrics.
Rotary cutter, mat and perspex ruler (can be supplied but will have to share)
Wadding (approx 32” square)
Cushion pad (32” x 32”)
