Breezy Summer Mave Skirt Workshop
Regular price £75.00The Mave pattern is an elastic waist skirt with a drawstring, inseam pockets and an optional lining.
In this one day workshop you will be sewing the first length of skirt with one tier, the elasticated waist and drawstring. Giving you all the skills to sew with gorgeous drapey fabrics such as viscose, rayon, lightweight lawns and chambrays.
Your sewing will generally follow this plan, to start with you will discuss your patterns, you will be taught how to measure properly and then choose which size you will be making. From there you will be guided through pining to your fabric and the transferring of markings from your pattern onto your fabric. Then it is time to cut. Please note we will not be tracing this pattern due to time contraints.
You may get further than this or be at this point when we will break for lunch. The break will be for 30 mins.
In the afternoon you will get down to the sewing where you will be talked through all the different parts of your pattern, the gathering, the pocket inserts, the buttonholes for the drawstring and attaching your tiers. Before you finish for you day you wil be taught the best way to finish your skirt, so you can then add more tiers at home if you want or finish them hem in your own time.
You will be heading home with the skills to finish the skirt in your own time.

What you will need:
Sewing machine threaded and working - Please note if you need to use one of our machines you will need to inform us at the booking stage as we have limited machines available.
Sewing kit
Fabric and notions for your chosen pattern size and length – a detailed tick list will be sent to you once you have booked on the course with full details

Next Stage Beginner, intermediate and advanced
You must have sewn up at least one garment before.

Please note we try to calculate how long a workshop will be and plan to finish each garment in the allocated time but this isn’t always possible, If you are unable to finish in the workshop time we will make sure you are confident with your garment to be finished at home.
