A Small/Full Bust Adjustment Workshop

Do you find when you make a woven fabric garment that is fitted to your body that the bust is too tight, or too loose, or the dart / panel seam is in the wrong place?

This workshop will show you how you can amend your patterns to fix these issues.

Please note you will not make a finished garment in this class you will go away with a pattern and toile for your chosen garment to be made again. 

What You will learn:

How to adjust your pattern, move darts or panel seams.

Increase / decrease darts.

Adjust the fit of the armhole on your garment that is distorted due to the poor fitting around the bust and align the side seams and hems if these are affected   

What you will need to bring

Sewing machine  

Your chosen fitted dress, blouse or shirt pattern, preferably with a fitted armhole, but this can be discussed beforehand.

Toile fabric to make your pattern with at the end of the day – this will need to be enough for your chosen garment 2.5 m should be enough probably less. An old bedsheet will be suitable or any low cost poly cotton or calico.

You are not going to get as much knowledge from this workshop if you choose to bring with you a pattern which is suitable for stretch fabric.

Pattern master or a set square.

Pencil.

Pattern paper, 3 metres should be plenty. This can be purchased at Make with 10% off.

Please note you may or may not get to sew up your toile depending on the original garment but you will go home with a pattern to re-create from. 

Level: 

Intermediate - you will need to understand garment construction. 

A basic sewing kit – scissors, pins tape measure etc – we do have a supply of these if you need to use ours.
