In this workshop you will learn how to hold a hook and many of the basic techniques needed to crochet. We will also spend some time chatting about the different types of wool and the different weights they come in. Once you've come to grips with the basics, we'll be building on your newly acquired skills, you will learn the treble stitch. We'll be putting your skills to the test and learning how to crochet a granny square as well as joining new colours.

In this final workshop we will spend a little time going over the previous workshops, making sure you're happy with the skills learnt so far. Then it's time to chat about pattern reading as well as crocheting a circle book mark and some flowers. If you have a project you need help with please bring this along.

In the class you will be given guidance from a crochet master with 30 years of experience, who practices this fiber art with the right hand.  We recognise that there are differences in handling the tools and direction of work, which is more conducive to a left hand (as working hand) practice. In order to ease you into the process of the handling the hook and wool you will be learning with other people, provided live feedback on techniques and offered selected online tutorials if requested.

Our course materials include visual guidance for the left- and right- handed crochet techniques and hook holding methods.

Testimonials

Thank you so much for my necklace and earrings. My sons were quite bemused that a vendor knew me by name and your personal touch made us all feel good. So much nicer than the faceless Amazon or even the posh mens clothing stores that I frequented (virtually) over Christmas.

I love the necklace and earrings - you were right they do match and I will share your site with friends

Myself and my daughter came in to choose a pattern to get us back into sewing again. Lizzy was so helpful, talking us through all of the patterns she has and what fabrics would suit the pattern and our skill level. We are so exicited to get started and thats thanks to Lizzy's patience and help in the shop. We can't wait to come on one of your workshops.
